  Rented a car on Wednesday afternoon, noticed the passenger side brake light was dim on Thursday. Called and informed herts personnel of the problem they seemed disinterested and told us to go ahead it should be ok. The light burned out last night and could not get anyone on the phone this morning. We were not willing to risk a ticket so we drove half an hour out of our way to take it to a local store location. We did get a new car but it took forever and there was no compensation for our trouble. Will never use them again. Side note: the personnel at the Ashville location were nice, unlike the Brilley location in Nashville.

  We only have one car so rent a vehicle on occasion if we need it. We usually go to Enterprise but tried Hertz as their rates were a little lower this time around. However, the service was horrendous. It took the two employees at the counter several minutes to even acknowledge us (though we were the only people in the shop) when we arrived as they were busy talking to each other and on their mobile phones. I had made a reservation well in advance yet our car was not ready for pick-up and, after patiently waiting for about 20 minutes (during which there was a lot of confusion as to which vehicle they were giving us and which was clean and which needed to go into the shop), we finally said that we had to get on the road to catch a flight but that didn't really help to get anything moving more quickly. Upon our return we decided to change our final form of payment from a personal credit card to a business card and the employee (a different one) was not only confounded as to how to do that but also was not friendly or helpful at all. We'll never rent here again, I'd rather pay a little more and go to Enterprise which is always professional and courteous. I responded to Hertz's request for customer feedback with this same info but didn't get any sort of reply.
